The American client contacted Barbara to carry out the design and complete refurbishment of this 170sqm apartment in St. Germain to create a modern, yet classic space with a bohemian twist and reference to the artists' history of this famous area in Paris. The property on the 5th floor offered spectacular characteristics with light flooded rooms and views of Notre Dame and Sacre Coeur, and original features such as plaster moldings and double doors to the living room. While Barbara opted for a radical reconfiguration of space -moving the kitchen to the front adjacent to the living room, and placing the first guest bedroom and its ensuite shower room where the kitchen once stood -great care was taken in the restoring of the home's original details.
The appartmentís stunning back-trop coupled with the client's cosmopolitan personality led to the use of raw and textured woods, antiques brass, bronze, marbles and a calm colour palette. A reflection of the ever changing Parisian sky and a beautiful and welcoming space for the client to call it her Parisian home.
